Emergency Preparedness

Services

The Emergency Preparedness Division is funded through a grant from the Indiana State Department of Health to provide local assistance in managing crisis or pandemic outbreaks at the local level. The Department regularly conducts drills, and simulates mock crisis events to maintain readiness and to reassure maximum preparedness of the health and safety of East Chicago residents in the event of a real life emergency.

COVID-19

Parents: Keep your children and relatives healthy during the COVID-19 outbreak: postpone in-person visits with grandparents and any other family & friends. Find creative ways for you and your children to connect with them- a phone call, video chat, or handwritten letters.
