Welcome to "ACCESS EAST CHICAGO" the home of the Multimedia Division. 
Our Mission: To inform the community of City Government business and city programs so that they may have a better quality of life while highlighting and promoting City community events through various media outlets.
As a reminder, please inform the Multimedia Division of any future events one month prior to your event if you want a community slide done on cable. Events submitted less than two week prior to your event will be displayed on our ECTV Facebook page. Submit your events by phone 391-8206, or thru email to

About ECTV Access East Chicago
In an effort to communicate and promote positive events in and around our city, We continued the efforts started in 1998, ECTV Access East Chicago is a government based television show that highlights news and events within the city of East Chicago.  ECTV Access East Chicago is produced by Steve Segura. 
Each week, information is given on upcoming events throughout the city and past events are highlighted through video segments.  On occasion, more in depth interviews are conducted. Notable past interviews include, New York Yankee Centerfielder Bernie Williams, Comedian Nick Gaza, and former Globe Trotter Hallie Bryant.  ECTV Access East Chicago has also been on site to capture special visits from Rev. Jesse Jackson, Kenny Lofton, E'Twaun Moore, Kawann Short just to name a few.
Recently the show has been given a new name "Access East Chicago" . The new title of the show mirrors past newsletters in order create a uniform feel to information access.
ECTV Access East Chicago airs daily on Government Access Cable Channel 21 and AT&T Uverse Channel 99 in a sub-menu.  Viewers are encouraged to contact the Multimedia Division at 391-8206 with any information regarding city events, or activities that may be of interest to East Chicago residents.

  • Maintain and operate the East Chicago Government Channel.
  • Film and edit government programs and some community events for broadcasting, (Restrictions may apply)
  • Provide copies of videos (requests must be made at the Controller's office).
  • Coordinate all sound and video events, including but not limited to:
    celebrations, public meetings, ground breakings, and press conferences..
  • Create advertisements and promote all city events through flyers, banners, email, television and radio or direct mail.
  • Provide media support for all departments. 
  • Create & maintain
  • Provide visual concepts, floor plans, designs and creation of decorations for events and assist with the events.
  • Produce the Mayor's State of the City event.
  • Maintain an online event calendar.
  • Take photos at all city events.
  • Assist the Mayor's Office when needed.
