Please join us and East Chicago Mayor Anthony Copeland in planting native
Indiana trees in Nunez Park and in the surrounding neighborhood, honoring Richard Morrisroe.
WHEN: Friday, April 26th from 10:00 am - 2:00 pm. The planting ceremony will begin at 10 am. Afterward, we will split into groups and plant trees in designated locations throughout the park and neighborhood.
WHERE: Nunez Park is located at by the corner of Elm St. and Broadway St. in the Harbor. Parking will be available in the Community Center and Park lot. Please stop by the check-in table underneath the pop-up tent!
WHAT TO BRING: Planting will take place rain or shine! Please dress for the weather. Plan to wear sturdy, close-toed shoes and bring a water bottle!
All tools, gloves, and instructions will be provided. Light snacks and refreshments will follow the planting.
